Windshield Washer Switch: Testing and Inspection
The windshield and rear wiper switches and the windshield and rear washer switches are integral to the right multi-function switch.WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS/AIR BAGS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the right multi-function switch connector receptacle.
Right Multifunction Switch Test:
3. Using an ohmmeter, perform the continuity and resistance tests at the terminals in the switch connector receptacle as shown in the Right Multi-Function Switch Test chart.
4. If the right multi-function switch fails any of the continuity or resistance tests, replace the faulty right multi-function switch unit as required.
