REMOVAL




1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the trim panel from the liftgate (1).




3. Position the watershield aside to gain access to the latch.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the latch (2).




5. Disconnect the latch cable from the liftgate handle and separate the support clips.
6. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the latch (1) to the liftgate.
7. Remove the liftgate latch (1) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION




1. Position the latch (1) onto the inside of the liftgate.
2. Install and tighten the three bolts (2) that secure the latch (1) to the studs on the inside of the liftgate.
3. Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 ft.lbs).




4. Connect the latch release cable to the handle and seat the support clips.
5. Connect electrical connectors (2) to the latch (1).




6. Position the watershield back.
7. Install the trim panel.
8. Connect the battery negative cable.
