Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove engine cover.
3. Disconnect CMP sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove CMP sensor (1) retaining bolt and remove sensor from cylinder head cover/intake manifold.

INSTALLATION




1. Lubricate O-ring on new CMP sensor (1) and install in cylinder head cover/intake manifold.
2. Install retaining bolts. Torque to 11 N.m (105 in. lbs.).
3. Connect sensor electrical connector.
4. Install engine cover.
5. Connect negative battery cable.
