Installation






GAS ENGINE

CAUTION: Power steering fluid hoses must remain away from the exhaust system, driveshafts, vehicle components and any unfriendly surface that can possibly damage the hoses.

1. Using a lint free towel, wipe clean the open power steering hose end and the power steering pump port. Replace any used O-rings with new. Lubricate the O-ring with power steering fluid.




2. Install the power steering pressure hose into the engine compartment from below.
3. Install the fasteners (1) securing the power steering hose routing clamps (2) to the crossmember. Use a NEW push clip on the left and tighten the screw on the right to 8 Nm (71 in. lbs.).




4. Install the pressure hose (2) at the gear (3). Tighten the tube nut to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the return tube (1) at the gear (3). Tighten the tube nut to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).




6. Install the return hose (1) at the return tube (2).
7. Lower the vehicle.




8. Install the pressure hose (3) at the pump pressure port (5). Tighten the tube nut to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
9. Install the pressure hose routing bracket bolt (2) to the upper mount (8).




10. All except 2.4L Engine with All-Wheel-Drive - Position the pressure hose routing clamp (2) at the exhaust manifold and install the mounting bolt (1). Tighten the bolt to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.).




11. 2.4L Engine with All-Wheel-Drive - Position the pressure hose routing clamp (2) at the exhaust manifold and install the mounting bolt (1). Tighten the bolt to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.).
12. Fill and bleed the power steering system.
13. Check for leaks.
14. Install the engine appearance cover.
