Reading Lamp Bulb - Removal

REMOVAL - BULB

NOTE: The reading lamps are integral to the mini overhead console in the headliner near the windshield.





1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Using a small thin-bladed screwdriver, gently pry the notched (forward) end (2) of the reading lamp lens away from the mini overhead console far enough to unsnap the lens from the two pivot pins (3) in the lamp housing.
3. Pull the notched end of the lens downward and slide it forward far enough to disengage the switch tab (1) on the rearward edge of the lens from between the mini overhead console and the switch plunger.
4. Remove the lens from the housing.




5. Using a small thin-bladed screwdriver, gently pry either side of the shield (1) inward from the lamp housing toward the reflector (2) and bulb (3) far enough to remove the shield from the housing.




6. Carefully unsnap the bulb (2) from the two bulb holders (1) within the lamp housing.
7. Remove the bulb from the lamp.
