Sahara Front License Plate - Mounting Hole Locations
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves the front license plate hole locations.

DISCUSSION:
On Sahara vehicles, the front bumper comes equipped with a front bumper bright overlay that is centered on the front bumper. The overlay covers both fog lamp and the center section of the front bumper. If a front license plate needs to be installed, the bright overlay lacks indicators to assist the technician with locating the license plate mounting hole locations. It is important to drill the front license plate mounting hole in the correct location so that sufficient bumper material is engaged to properly support the license plate.
Each front license plate mounting hole should be located by:
^ A 66 mm (2.60 inches) horizontal line inboard from the inner most edge of the fog lamp outer radius.
^ A 22.5 mm (0.89 inches) vertical line up from the bottom surface I edge of the overlay.
Mark the location of the two mounting holes. Verify that the horizontal distance between these two (marked) bottom license plate holes is 178 mm (7.0 inches) center-to-center prior to drilling out the holes. Use no larger than a 4.5 mm (3/16 inch) diameter drill bit to drill the mounting holes into the front overlay and bumper material.
