Installation







INSTALLATION - 3.8L





If the removed sensor is reinstalled, clean off old spacer (3) on sensor face. A NEW SPACER (3) must be attached to face before installation. Inspect O-ring (2) for damage, replace if necessary. If sensor is being replaced, confirm that paper spacer (3) is attached to face, and O-ring (2) is positioned in groove of new sensor.

1. Apply a couple drops of clean engine oil to the O-ring (2) prior to installation.




2. Install sensor (3) into engine and rotate into position.
3. Push sensor down until contact is made with camshaft gear. While holding sensor in this position, install and tighten mounting bolt (4) to 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.) torque.
4. Connect sensor pigtail connector (1) to engine harness connector.
5. Connect negative battery cable.
