Service Procedure





1. Remove the Adjustable Turning Loop (ATL) cover (Figure 1).

NOTE:
Use a small trim stick to unsnap the ATL cover.





2. Remove the ATL "D" ring pivot bolt (Figure 2).

CAUTION:
There is a plastic spacer located between the "D" ring and the
ATL.

3. Remove the plastic "SRS" screw cover (Figure 1).

4. Remove the upper "B" pillar cover retaining screw.





5. Partially remove the front and rear door weather strips (Figure 3).

6. Carefully remove the upper "B" pillar cover from the "B" pillar.

7. Clean the foam block mounting area with an alcohol wipe.

8. Remove the adhesive release paper from the foam block provided in the repair kit.





9. Install the foam block as shown in Figure 4.





10. Using a utility knife or equivalent, cut off the trim tab on the back side of the upper "B" pillar cover (Figure 5).





11. Install the "B" pillar bracket as shown in Figure 6.

12. Install the upper "B" pillar cover onto the vehicle "B" pillar.

13. Install the original upper "B" pillar cover retaining screw.

CAUTION:
Be sure that the "B" pillar bracket is in place before installing the screw.

14. Install the plastic "RS" screw cover (Figure 1).

15. Install the ATL "D" ring pivot bolt and plastic spacer (Figure 2).

Tighten pivot bolt to 29 ft. lbs (39 N.m).

CAUTION:
Make sure the plastic spacer is installed between the "D" ring and the ATL.

16. Install the ATL cover (Figure 1).

17. Repeat steps 1 through 15 for the other side of the vehicle.
