Transaxle Differential - Disassembly

DISASSEMBLY

Special Tools:















1. Remove differential bearing cones (ring gear and differential case side) using Puller (1), Adapter Blocks (3), and Adaptor (2). If all wheel drive use Puller , four Inserts and Press Insert to remove the large carrier bearing.

2. Remove the bolts holding the pinion shaft retainer (4) and the ring gear (3) to the differential case (1).










3. Separate differential support (1) from case (2).










4. Remove the side gear thrust washer (1).
5. Remove side gear (2).










6. Remove pinion shaft (1).










7. Remove pinion gear (2) and thrust washers (1).










8. Remove side gear (1).










9. Remove the side gears thrust washer (1).
