P0630-VIN NOT PROGRAMMED IN PCM

- When Monitored:
At initialization.

- Set Condition:
The VIN has not been programmed into the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). One Trip Fault. Three good trips to turn off the MIL.





Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.
VIN NOT PROGRAMMED IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. Using the scan tool, program the VIN into the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
3. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.

NOTE: If the engine will not start, crank the engine for 15 seconds. Crank at least 2 times with the ignition switch returning to the off position each time.

4. With a scan tool, select View DTCs.

Is the status Active for this DTC?

Yes

- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.

No

- Test complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
