Axle Bushings - Installation






INSTALLATION

Special Tools:






CAUTION: Bushing must be installed in the original location ± 2 degrees. Failure to follow these instruction will result in damaging the bushing and a NVH problem.

PINION NOSE BUSHING





1. Start bushing in axle housing with bushing reference mark aligned.
2. Center one of the Receiver (1) flat spots (2) under pinion for tool clearance.





3. Install bushing (1) with Installer (2) Receiver (3) and Press.

AXLE TUBE BUSHING





1. Start bushing in axle tube with bushing reference mark aligned.
2. Center one of the Receiver (3) flat spots over the axle tube for tool clearance.
3. Install bushing (1) with Installer (2) Receiver (3) and Press.

AXLE BRACKET BUSHING





1. Start bushing in axle bracket with bushing reference mark aligned.
2. Install bushing (1) with Receiver (2) Spacer (3) position in bracket, Installer (4) and Press. Press bushing through the first side of the bracket then remove Spacer (3). Verify bushing is aligned with the second side of the bracket. Installer Spacer (3) and press bushing through the second side of the bracket.
