Ignition Control Module: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

Igniter Testing:





1. With the ignition switch in ON, disconnect the igniter connector C134/1 and check for battery voltage at the YEL/WHT wire.
2. If battery voltage is not present check for an open or short to ground on circuit back through the ignition coil.
3. If battery voltage is present, check for continuity:
^ on the GRN/WHT wire between the Engine Control Module connector C248/4 and igniter connector C134/3.
^ to ground on BLK wire of igniter connector C134/4.
4. If continuity exists and the igniter does not work properly, replace the igniter.
5. If continuity does not exist, refer to wiring diagram.
