Spark Plug: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE

REMOVAL

1. Remove and install the spark plug wires carefully.

Spark Plug Cable Removal:





CAUTION: When the spark plug lead is to be pulled off, be sure to pull the boot itself, not the wire.

2. Remove and install the spark plug with a plug socket.





CAUTION: Be sure the socket is fit squarely over the spark plug.

INSTALLATION

1. Apply anti-seize compound or molybdenum-based lubricant to the spark plug threads.
2. Tighten the spark plug to the specified torque.

Torque: 15 - 23 Nm (11 - 17 ft lb)
