Heating and Air Conditioning: Testing and Inspection

After evacuating system, check for leaks as follows:

1. Connect a full refrigerant container to the service valve.
2. Open high-pressure manual valve to charge system with refrigerant gas.
3. When the low-pressure gauge reads 14 psi, close high pressure manual valve.
4. Use a gas leak detector to check system for leaks. If a leak is found, repair the faulty component or connection, then evacuate system and repeat leak test.
