Valve Body: Service and Repair

NOTE: On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.

Fig. 5 Valve Body Bolts:





1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Drain transmission fluid, then remove pan and gasket.
4. Remove clip and solenoid valve connector.
5. Remove bolts A (1.18 inch long) and B (1.97 inch long) and brackets, Fig. 5.
6. Remove valve body carefully to prevent damage.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque valve body bolts A and B, Fig. 5, to 70-95 inch lbs.
b. Install new pan gasket.
c. Torque pan bolts to 74-95 inch lbs.
d. Refill transaxle to proper level with specified fluid.
8. On models equipped with airbag system, refer to Technician Safety Information for system disarming and arming procedures.
