Cruise Control: Description and Operation

The cruise control system uses mechanical and electrical devices to maintain the vehicle speed at a driver selected setting between approximately 25-90 mph (40-145 km/h).

The cruise control module receives signals from the cruise control main switch, the brake pedal switch, cruise control switch, clutch pedal position switch or transmission range switch, and the vehicle speed sensor. The cruise control unit signals to the cruise control actuator and the transmission control module.
