Optima RKE systems may now be programmed with the Hi-Scan Pro scan tool (no more disassembling the dash). Use adapter 09900-21300 to connect the scan tool to the check connector located just to the left of the OBD-II connector under the dash on the driver's side. After selecting Optima and the model year, select CODE SAVING. You will then be instructed to remove the ignition key from the key cylinder and press enter; this will bring you to a screen that explains the code saving method. After reviewing the code saving method, press enter and you will have 10 seconds to perform the reprogramming. Whether you are adding a key or replacing one, both keys will need to be programmed in the same procedure because the old programming is overwritten. Two keys are the maximum that may be programmed into the RKE module.
