Rear Bumper: Service and Repair

4 DOOR

Removal
1. Remove left rear combination light assembly.




2. Repeat right side.
3. Remove two fasteners that secure left rear mud flap to mud guard.
4. Remove left mud flap.
5. Remove two fasteners that secure right rear mud flap to mud guard.
6. Remove one bolt that secures right rear mud guard to fender.
7. Remove one screw from left side of bumper.




8. Repeat for right side.
9. Remove six fasteners from top of bumper.
10. Remove two bolts from left rear bumper stay.
11. Repeat for right side.




12. Remove rear bumper.

Installation
Install in reverse order of removal.

Tighten rear bumper mounting bolts to 23 - 28 lb.ft (31 - 39 N.m, 3.2 - 3.9 kg.m)

5 DOOR

Removal
1. Remove trunk end trim. Refer to "Trim".
2. Remove trunk corner trim. Refer to "Trim".
3. Remove rear combination light assembly. Refer to "Exterior lights".
4. Remove three nuts from right side of the bumper.




5. Repeat for left side.
6. Remove two bolts from left rear bumper stay.




7. Repeat for right side.
8. Remove rear bumper.

Installation
Install in reverse order of removal.

Tighten rear bumper mounting bolts to 23 - 28 lb.ft (31 - 38 N.m, 3.2 - 3.9 kg.m)
