Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

AIR CLEANER (ACL)





COMPONENTS

REMOVAL





1. Remove the engine cover.





2. Disconnect the battery terminal.





3. Disconnect the air flow sensor connector and the vacuum hose from the air intake hose.





4. Remove the air cleaner assembly after removing the air intake hose clamp and fixing bolt (3ea).
5. Lift the fuse box after removing the fuse box mounting bolts.
6. Remove the air duct (bolt 1 ea).
7. Remove the wheel and tire.
8. Remove the wheel housing cover.
9. Remove the extension duct (bolts 3ea).

INSTALLATION
1. Install the extension duct (bolts 3ea).
Tightening torque: 7.8 - 9.8 Nm (0.8 - 1.0 kg-m, 5.8 - 7.2 ft. lbs.)
2. Install the wheel housing cover.
3. Install the wheel and tire.
Tightening torque: 88.3 - 107.9 Nm (9.0 - 1 1.0 kg-m, 65.1 - 79.6 ft. lbs.)
4. Install the air duct.
Tightening torque: 7.8 - 9.8 Nm (0.8 - 1.0 kg-m, 5.8 - 7.2 ft. lbs.)
5. Install the fuse box.
6. Install the air cleaner assembly.
Tightening torque: 7.8 - 9.8 Nm (0.8 - 1.0 kg-m, 5.8 - 7.2 ft. lbs.)
7. Reconnect the air flow sensor connector and the vacuum hose to the air intake hose. And then clamp the hose with the air hose clamp.
8. Reconnect the battery terminal.
9. Install the engine cover.

INSPECTION
1. Check the air intake hose, air cleaner cover for damage.





2. Check the air duct for damage.





3. Check the air cleaner element for restriction, contamination or damage.
If the element is slightly restricted, remove dust and debris by blowing compressed air from the inside of the element. Replace the element if it cannot be cleaned.
