Trunk / Liftgate Hinge: Service and Repair

Trunk lid hinge assembly

Removal
1. Remove trunk lid, Refer to "Trunk lid".




2. Remove high-mounted brake light.
3. Remove the trunk lid balance spring.
4. Remove rear package trim.
5. Support trunk lid hinge assembly so it will not fall when four trunk lid hinge installation bolts are removed.




6. Remove four trunk lid hinge installation bolts, and then remove trunk lid hinge assembly.

Installation

NOTE: Have an assistant help install trunk lid hinge.

1. Install in reverse order of removal.
2. Tighten trunk lid hinge installation bolts.

Tighten bolts to 78 - 113 lb.in (9 - 13 N.m, 90 - 130 kg.cm)

3. Install trunk lid.
