Door Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair
4 DOOROutside door handle and door lock cylinder
Removal
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove door trim. Refer to "Trim".
3. Remove one screw on pull handle bracket.
4. Remove pull handle bracket.
NOTE: Peel plastic door screen off carefully so that it can be reused.
5. Peel off plastic door screen carefully by pulling it away gradually from door frame.
6. Disconnect outside door handle rod of door lock assembly from outside door handle.
7. Disconnect lock cylinder rod of door lock assembly from door lock cylinder of door handle.
8. Remove two mounting nuts on outside door handle.
9. Remove outside door handle.
Installation
1. Position outside door handle.
2. Install two mounting nuts.
Tighten two mounting nuts to 61 - 87 lb.in (7 - 10 N.m, 70 - 100 kg.cm)
3. Connect door lock cylinder rod of door lock assembly to door lock cylinder of door handle.
4. Connect outside door handle rod of door lock assembly to outside door handle.
5. Install plastic door screen.
a. Fasten plastic door screen.
b. Route electrical harness connector through plastic door screen.
c. Pull out remote control rods for inner door handle through plastic door screen.
6. Install pull handle bracket with one mounting screw.
7. Install door trim. Refer to "Trim".
8. Connect negative battery cable.
