Engine Oil Pressure: Testing and Inspection

Oil pressure check





1. Disconnect and remove oil pressure switch.





2. Install oil pressure gauge into oil pressure switch installation hole.
3. Warm engine to normal operating temperature.
4. Run engine at 3,000 rpm, and note gauge readings.
Oil pressure: 43 - 57 psi (294 - 392 kPa, 3.0 - 4.0 kg/cm2)
5. If pressure is not within specification, check for cause, and repair.
6. Remove oil pressure gauge and install oil pressure switch.
Tightening torque: 104 - 156 inch lbs. (12 - 18 Nm, 1.2 - 1.8 kg-m)
