PRECAUTION BEFORE ADDING OR CHANGING BRAKE FLUID

This bulletin provides a general guideline that should be followed whenever the brake fluid reservoir cap is to be removed for the purpose of adding brake fluid or refilling the brake fluid reservoir. The information in this bulletin applies to all Kia models.

NOTICE
IMPORTANT: Make sure to completely remove any foreign substances from the brake fluid reservoir and around the cap area before removing the reservoir cap. Otherwise possible contamination of the brake fluid and deterioration in braking performance could occur.

Service procedure: removing Foreign Substances Around Brake fluid reservoir Cap

1. If brake fluid reservoir cap is located in front of cowl top cover, first thoroughly wipe foreign substances off the brake fluid reservoir and cap; then open the cap to add brake fluid or refill reservoir.

2. If brake fluid reservoir cap is located under cowl top cover:

a. First thoroughly wipe foreign substances off the lower surface of the cowl top cover as shown in the photo.

b. Then wipe off the brake fluid reservoir.

c. Thoroughly wipe off the cap; then open the cap to add brake fluid or refill reservoir.

3. If the brake fluid reservoir is equipped with a strainer, add or change brake fluid with the strainer inserted at all times.

CAUTION
DO NOT remove the brake fluid reservoir strainer. The strainer will prevent any debris from contaminating the brake fluid.
