SPECTRA 2.0L GRILLE EMBLEM REPLACEMENT

This bulletin provides information relating to a repair procedure for Spectra5 and SX grille emblem replacement. Some emblems may not adhere to the radiator grille properly. To correct this possible customer concern follow the instructions in this Technical Service Bulletin.





1. Remove tape residue from grille emblem mounting location. Clean grille emblem mounting surface with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover(TM) (P/N-08984) or equivalent.

2. Wipe the grille emblem mounting surface with isopropyl alcohol using a lint free cloth.

3. Apply 3M Adhesion Promoter 4298(TM) to the grille emblem mounting surface. Let the adhesive promoter dry for one minute.

Note:
3M Adhesion Promoter 4298(TM) should be locally sourced. Kia does not supply this product in the Kia Parts system.

Only apply adhesive promoter to areas that will be fully covered by the emblem double-sided tape.





4. Peel the backing from the new emblem and position it properly onto the grille.





5. Press the emblem firmly onto the grille five or six times to make sure the entire surface is fully bonded.
