Steering Angle Sensor: Service and Repair

STEERING WHEEL ANGLE SPEED SENSOR





COMPONENTS

REMOVAL
1. Remove the bolt cover from both down side the steering wheel cover





2. Loosen two bolts using the hex wrench.





3. Using the special tool (09561-1101),remove the steering wheel.

CAUTION: Do not hammer on the steering wheel to remove it; doing so may damage the collapsible shaft.

4. Remove the steering column lower shroud and upper shroud.





5. Remove the lower cover.





6. Remove the steering wheel angle sensor after loosening the clock spring mounting bolt.

INSTALLATION





1. Tighten the four mounting bolts after installing the clock spring and steering wheel angle sensor.

CAUTION: Turn clock spring and steering wheel angle sensor to the end of both direction, return to the opposite direction two and a half rounds. Install the steering wheel after aligning clock spring and angle sensor to be '><'form

2. Install the steering wheel.





3. Tighten the steering wheel nut.
Tightening torque: 40 - 50 Nm (400 - 500 kg cm, 28.9 - 36.9 ft. lbs.)





4. Tighten two bolts after installing the air module.
Tightening torque: 8 - 11 Nm (80 - 110 kg cm, 5.6 - 7.0 ft. lbs.)
