When attempting to diagnose an intermittent immobilizer concern such as engine cranks but will not start, immobilizer light flashing, take note of what else is on the key ring that may be interfering with the signal from the ignition key to the immobilizer antenna coil. Another vehicle key with an immobilizer, a security fob for building entry or a gas station speed pass can possibly jam the immobilizer signal. If the system works correctly in the service bay, you may need to question the customer about their other sets of keys.
