Fuel Tank: Service and Repair





REMOVAL (INCLUDING FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR)

1. Preparation
(1) Remove the rear seat cushion .
(2) Open the service cover (A).




(3) Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A).




(4) Start the engine and wait until fuel in fuel line is exhausted.
(5) After engine stalls, turn the ignition switch to OFF position.
2. Disconnect the fuel feed quick-connector (A) and the fuel tank pressure sensor connector (B).




3. Lift the vehicle.
4. Remove the muffler assembly .
5. Support the fuel tank with a jack.
6. Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A).




7. Disconnect the vacuum hose (B).
8. Disconnect the vacuum tube (C) from the canister.
9. Unscrew the fuel tank band mounting nuts and remove the fuel tank.

INSTALLATION

Installation is reverse of removal.

Fuel Tank Band Mounting Nuts : 39.2 - 54.0 Nm (4.0 - 5.5 kgf-m, 28.9 - 39.8 lbf-ft)
