Variable Induction Control Actuator: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION

Variable Intake manifold Solenoid (VIS) valves are installed on surge tank (VIS Valve #1) and intake manifold (VIS Valve #2). These VIS valve #1 and #2 control vacuum modulators which activate valves in surge tank and intake manifold. The PCM opens or closes these valves according to engine condition .

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM





COMPONENT INSPECTION
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect VIS Valve connector.
3. Measure resistance between VIS Valve #1,2 terminals 1 and 2.




4. Check that the resistance is within the specification.
