Vacuum Pump: Testing and Inspection

Cruise control ECU connector

Connect a jumper wire between terminal 4 & 8 and 7 & 8.
- Vacuum pump must run and fully retract activator diaphragm.

Remove jumper from terminal 4 (7 & 8 still connected).
- Pump stops, but diaphragm remains retracted.

Remove jumper from terminal 7.
- Diaphragm extends.

If results are not as specified, check:
- vacuum hose/connections
- vent valve/adjustment
- wiring to vacuum pump
- vacuum pump.
