DESCRIPTION
Refrigerant 12 is transparent and colorless in both the gaseous and liquid state. It has a boiling point of -29.8°C (-21.7°F) at atmospheric pressure and at all normal pressures and temperatures it becomes a vapor. The vapor is heavier than air, non-flammable, and non-explosive. It is non-poisonous except when in contact with an open flame, and non-corrosive until it comes in contact with water.
