Power Steering Box - 1993 Changes

From 1993 Range Rover VIN ...PA625022, an improved power steering box has been installed by the Factory. Changes to the input shaft seal have been made to reduce leaks. Shaft concentricity was improved at the same time. A new seal kit is now available to service these steering boxes.





Work Procedure

See Service Bulletin number P90-001 for steering system leak diagnosis. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 57 for replacement/reseal/overhaul procedures, specifications and torque values.

Parts Information

Overhaul/reseal of steering boxes up to VIN . . . FA625022 use seal kit: STC876. Overhaul/reseal of steering boxes from VIN ... FA625022 use seal kit: STC890.

The latest version steering box - STC888 - can be retrofitted to earlier vehicles. Reuse the existing drop arm.
