Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems: Service Precautions

NOTE: ABS components ARE NOT serviceable. Replace components that are found to be faulty.

CAUTION:
- Thoroughly clean all brake components, calipers, pipes and fittings before commencing work on the brake system. Failure to do so could cause foreign matter to enter the system and damage seals and pistons, which will seriously impair brake system efficiency.
- DO NOT use brake fluid previously bled from the system.
- DO NOT use old or stored brake fluid.
- ENSURE that only new fluid is used and that it is taken from a clean sealed container.
- DO NOT flush the brake system with any fluid other than the recommended brake fluid.
- The brake system must be drained and flushed at the recommended service intervals.
- Fluid pressures of 170 bar (2466 psi) are produced by the hydraulic pump. It is essential that the procedure for depressurizing the system is carried out where instructed.
