Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

WARNING: Before removing the Coolant Temperature sensor, allow engine to cool down. Failure to do so may cause serious injury or burns.

Coolant Temperature Sensor:




REMOVE
1. Position drain tray to collect coolant spillage.
2. Disconnect multiplug from coolant sensor.
3. Remove sensor from thermostat housing.
4. Remove and discard copper washer.

REFIT
1. Fit a new copper washer.
2. Fit sensor and tighten securely.
3. Top-up cooling system.
4. Run engine, check for water leaks around sensor.
