Torque Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove gearbox.
2. Position container beneath converter housing to catch fluid spillage.
3. Remove torque converter retaining strap. Remove converter.





4. Remove seal using hooked tool or lever.

CAUTION: Ensure seal location does not become damaged.

INSTALLATION
5. Clean seal location and running surface on torque converter. Wipe fluid spillage from converter housing.
6. Lubricate seal lip with clean transmission fluid.
7. Install seal to converter housing using LRT-44-001.
8. Install torque converter. Install retaining strap.
9. Remove container.
10. Install gearbox.
