2003 Range Rover BCU Set to "Production Mode"

SITUATION

Some 2003 Range Rover vehicles have been delivered from the factory with the Body Control Units (BCUS) in "Production Mode." Having the BCU in this mode results in the following symptoms:

^ Vehicle door locks are inoperative

^ Wipers and interior lights did not work

RESOLUTION

Recent TestBook/14 updates permit clearing the "Production Mode" condition. Before changing a suspect BCU exhibiting the above symptoms, determine if it is set to Production Mode.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Connect TestBook/14 to the vehicle using "DJL0D07" or later disc.

2. Select Vehicle Maintenance.

3. Select either the PDI or Production Mode icon.

4. If the vehicle is set in Production mode, deselected this setting.
