Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Coolant

Engine coolant

Only the approved anti-freezes listed below are to be used. All approved anti-freezes are ethylene glycol based (containing no methanol) with silicate non-phosphate corrosion inhibitors, to protect the cooling system.

Arteco Glacelf MDX
Castrol NF
BASF Glysantin G48

Caution: Do not mix any of the approved anti-freezes listed with Texaco Havoline XLC type coolant, or any other non-approved coolants.

Castrol NF and Arteco Glacelf MDX are re-badged versions of BASF Glysantin G48.

The cooling system should be drained, flushed and refilled with the correct amount of anti-freeze solution at the intervals given on the Service Maintenance Check Sheet.

After filling with anti-freeze solution, attach a warning label to a prominent position on the vehicle stating the type of anti-freeze contained in the cooling system to ensure that the correct type is used for topping-up.

The anti-freeze is supplied in the following quantites:

Part No. PDA500300 1 litre
Part No. PDA500310 5 litre
