the ME 7.2 uses an additional engine coolant temperature sensor located in the radiator outlet. the sensor monitors the temperature of the coolant leaving the radiator for precise activation of the auxiliary fan. the sensor is an NTC thermistor type. the signal is used by the ECM to activate the auxiliary fan when the engine coolant temperature leaving the radiator is in the range of 80°C to 104°C.
