Model Year: 2002 - 2005

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:

This bulletin has been issued to notify Retailers of the availability of new serviceable parts and procedures to repair the Jatco automatic transmission assembled to Freelander vehicles with KV6 engines. The complete transmission will no longer require replacement for electrical solenoid or wiring issues that may be diagnosed as causing one or more of the following gear shift symptoms:

^ Harsh gear shifts.

^ Restrictive gear shifts.

^ No gear shifts where an 'F4' message is displayed in the instrument pack message center.

Action:

Should a customer express one of the concerns noted above, refer to the Repair Procedures detailed in this bulletin to repair the transmission assembly.
