Audio System Diagnostics

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Range Rover (LM) VIN: 6A194480 onward

CONDITION SUMMARY:

AUDIO SYSTEM SOUND QUALITY

Situation:
Various issues could lead to a customer concern relating to the audio system quality of sound.

Action:
Should a customer express concern regarding audio sound quality, refer to the Diagnostic Procedure detailed in this bulletin to ascertain the root cause of the problem.

TOOLS:

415-005.............MOST System Tester

WARNING:
The light produced by the MOST tester is very bright. It must not be viewed directly to avoid potential eye damage.

NOTE:
The MOST tester is used to diagnose the MOST system.

^ The test unit emits a visible, high intensity red light which can be connected into the ring at any point to test the ring integrity.

^ Disconnecting a MOST connector will reveal if the high intensity red light is visible.

^ If a break occurs in the MOST ring, diagnostic trouble codes are stored in the IHU which can be retrieved using the Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS).

^ The MOST system tester kit is used in conjunction with WDS. For additional information, refer to Range Rover (LM) Workshop Manual Section 86-8 - AUDIO SYSTEM - Description.
