Receiver Drier

Removal

NOTE: The receiver drier need only be changed under the following circumstances: There is dirt in the refrigerant circuit ( eg. compressor seizure ). The system is leaking and refrigerant has been lost to atmosphere. Refrigerant circuit has been open more than 24 hours due to repair.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the condenser core.
3. Remove the receiver drier support bracket clamp.
^ Loosen the screw.

CAUTION: Immediately cap all refrigerant lines to prevent ingress of dirt and moisture.

4. Remove the receiver drier.
^ Remove the bolt.
^ Remove the clamp.
^ Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals.





Installation

1. Install the receiver drier.
- Clean the component mating faces.
^ Install new O-ring seals.
^ Install the clamp.
^ Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).
2. Install the condenser core.
3. Connect the battery ground cable.
