Repair and Diagnosis: Application and ID

The Vehicle Identification Number is stamped on the Vehicle Identification Number plate and certification label. Both are mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment. The VIN can also be found on a plate mounted to the upper left side of the dash board assembly. Below is a typical VIN breakdown;

8 - Check digit.
P - Model Year; P = 1993, R = 1994, S = 1995.
0 - Plant code.
000001 - Sequential number.
