Camshaft Position Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE/OPERATION
This system uses two distributors, each with seperate camshaft position sensors. The lefthand camshaft position sensors creates the G1 signal. The righthand camshaft position sensor creates the G2 signal. The crankshaft position sensor creates the NE signal. The NE signal works in conjunction with the G1 and G2 signals and produces an output pulse to the Engine Control Module. The Engine Control Module uses this signal to determine engine speed and relative top dead center for each cylinder.
