Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then recover refrigerant from the Air Conditioning system.
2. Remove ABS actuator as follows:
a. Connect vinyl tube to TRAC actuator bleeder plug, then loosen bleeder plug. When fluid no longer flows, close plug. Fluid is under high pressure and could spray.
b. Disconnect brake lines to TRAC and ABS actuator.
c. Remove actuator bolts, then the actuator.
3. Remove liquid tube and suction tube.
4. Remove equalizer tube from EPR. Cap fittings immediately to keep moisture out of system.
5. Remove undercover glove compartment and side air duct.
6. Disconnect electrical connectors and remove power steering relay box, cooling fan computer and TRC computer, Fig. 40.

7. Pull floor carpeting down and remove remote computer cover.
8. Remove evaporator cover and floor duct bolts. then pull lower case down and remove evaporator.
9. Pull out evaporator sensor from evaporator fins, then remove expansion valve bolts and expansion valve from evaporator.
10. Reverse procedure to install. Torque ABS actuator.
