Evaporative Emissions System: Description and Operation

Fuel Evaporation System:

PURPOSE
The EVAP system contains and stores fuel tank HC emissions in the form of fuel vapor. When temperature and driving conditions are correct, captured vapor is directed into the air intake chamber for burning.

CONSTRUCTION
The system consists of a vacuum switching valve (VSV), a check valve and a charcoal canister.
