Air Injection Control Valve: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTIONChecking ASV Operation:
- Apply vacuum above 140 mm Hg (5.51 in. Hg) to the air switching valve diaphragm and check that the air switching valve is open.
Checking ASV Operation:
- Release the applied vacuum and check that the air switching valve is closed.
- If operation is not as described, replace the check valve.

Discontinued Mid 1994 production year. Models with production vin JT8UF11E4R0196973 or later, or have a production date later than 01/94 have no secondary air injection system. Always consult the ECS label to verify equipment required on the vehicle.
