Piston: Service and Repair
When installed, the
piston front mark and
connecting rod front mark should face toward front of engine,

1.
Install new snap ring at one end of
piston pin hole.
2.
Heat
piston to about 176°F.
3.
Coat
piston pin with engine oil, align front marks of
piston and
connecting rod, and push in piston.
4.
Install snap ring at other end of
piston hole.
