Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

PROCEDURE
Removal

1. Disconnect negative terminal cable from battery.

Caution: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned OFF and the negative terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. Remove starter motor.





3. Remove Knock Sensors.
- Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
- Using Special Service Tool, remove the Knock Sensor (SST 09816-30010).

Installation





1. Reinstall Knock Sensors using Special Service Tool (SST 09816-30010).

Torque: 44 Nm (33 ft lb)

- Connect the knock sensor connector.
2. Reinstall starter motor.
3. Reconnect negative terminal cable to battery.
