Fluid Drain & Refill Procedures

NOTE: Use only Toyota Type T-IV (TSB - T003-99 5/21/99) Automatic Transmission Fluid, otherwise extensive damage may occur. Do not use any other Automatic Transmission Fluid.

1. Drain transmission fluid, then reinstall drain plug.
2. With engine Off, add fluid through filler tube. Do not overfill.
3. Transmission drain and refill capacity is 2.0 US quarts.
4. Start engine, move shift lever through all positions, ensuring smooth operation.
5. Allow engine to idle, then check fluid level, add up to COOL level.
6. Once fluid temperature reaches 158-176°F, recheck fluid level.
