Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL


1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system.







2. Remove No. 2 air cleaner hose.
(a) Remove the bolt and the No.2 air cleaner hose.




3. Disconnect liquid tube.
(a) Disconnect the liquid tube from the condenser.






(b) Remove the receiver from the condenser


4.Disconnect discharge tube.

Note: Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture and dirt out of the system.




5. Remove condenser.
(a) Disconnect the connect the condenser upper mountings.
(b) Turn the mountings downward.






(c) Remove radiator upper mountings.
(d) Push the radiator to engine side.






(e) Push the condenser to radiator side and pull it upward.



INSTALLATION


1. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Note: If condenser was replaced.

Lubricate new O-rings with compressor oil

Add 40 cc (1.4 fl.oz.) Compressor oil: ND OIL 8
Recharge refrigerant 850+/- 50 g, (29.92 +/- 1.76oz.)

Torque:
Discharge tube 10 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf.)
Condenser to liquid tube 14 N.m (140 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf.)
Receiver to liquid tube 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf.)
