Ignition Coil: Service and Repair









COMPONENTS FOR NO.1 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION





NO.1 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL
1. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP COVER
2. REMOVE BATTERY AND BATTERY TRAY
3. DISCONNECT IGNITION COIL CONNECTOR
4. DISCONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD
5. DISCONNECT NOISE FILTER CONNECTOR
6. REMOVE IGNITION COIL
- Remove the 2 bolts, ignition coil and bracket.

Torque:
10 mm head 7.5 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lb.)
14 mm head 34 N.m (350 kgf.cm, 25 ft.lb.)


- Remove the 4 screws and ignition coil from the bracket.

NO.1 IGNITION COIL INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.





COMPONENTS FOR NO.2 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION





NO.2 IGNITION COIL REMOVAL
1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
2. DISCONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD
3. REMOVE IGNITION COIL
- Remove the 4 screws and ignition coil, and disconnect the ignition coil from the bracket.
- Disconnect the ignition coil connector, and remove the ignition coil.

NO.2 IGNITION COIL INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION HINT: Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
